New York Counts 2020 at Ernest Skinner Political Association
On November 26, 2018, New York Counts 2020, with its member orgs, Center for Law and Social Justice at Medgar Evers College and Christopher Rose Community Empowerment Campaign participated in an engaged talk on the Census sponsored by the Ernest Skinner Political Association (formerly known as Political Power Through Organizing, named in honor of its longtime member and community elder Ernest McD. Skinner, far-left in photo below) and Councilman Jumaane Williams.
The Association’s goal is to create a more politically aware community and increase Brooklyn’s strength to influence political outcomes. Held at the Clarendon Road Church in East Flatbush, the group brought out 25 active and civic minded members to the event. U.S. Census Bureau Regional Director Jeff Behler and NAACP-Brooklyn Branch were also on the panel.
